Loan from the In-Laws

January 1st, 2015 at 11:26 am

My in-laws said from the very beginning when my husband broke his wrist that if we needed to borrow any money to please not be shy and ask, which we are so grateful for.
We stretched as far as we could but found that we need to borrow some money in order to get B back to work and to cover our expenses for the next 2 weeks.
So a couple of days ago we had to bite the bullet and ask for $1000. They were very good about it, gave us the money the next day and did not have a bad thing to say about it (they aren't the type of people to say anything bad anyway).
It's never a good feeling to borrow from family but hopefully being in this position will give us the motivation to never be in the position where we need to borrow from family again. Ugh. It's so not a good feeling.
We want to repay them $100 per week over a 10 week period. We would increase the amount but we need to ensure that we are not left short either. (So the cycle can be broken).

What a blessing to have in laws that are helpful.

While it doesn't feel good to borrow from family, if they are kind and generous as your in-laws seem to be then that is better than borrowing from a creditor.

Thank you, we are blessed, they are wonderful people. We both start back at work on Monday so hopefully they can start getting repaid soon. We are very lucky to have such a great family.
